My Biography

My name is LaDasha Williams. I am from Maryland. Currently, I live in Bowie, Maryland. I grew up in Washington, DC when I was a baby. At the age of 9, I moved to Bowie, Maryland. I lived with my Grandparents, Mom and Dad in Washington, DC. My Grandfather was the BEST person in my life! He was such a sweet man. He cared for me, and treated me like a princess. My Grandmother was the BEST cook! She made chicken and dumplings and that was my favorite! When I was young, I watched how my Grandmother made chicken and dumplings! The dumplings were so thick and delicious.

My parents found out that I was deaf when I was two. They looked for a deaf school and found the Kendall Demonstration Elementary School (KDES) in Washington, DC. I went to KDES. I learned American Sign Language. I also learned to dance when I was two years old. For many years, I danced with the National Deaf Dance Academy at Gallaudet University when at KDES. Moreover, I danced for two years with the Eleanor Roosevelt High School Dance Company. I danced for 14 years. I love to dance. Hip Hop and Jazz are my favorite. Ballet was not really my favorite, but it is still beautiful! I love to listen to music such as Hip Hop, R&B and Pop. The music inspires me, because I love to dance, and it gives me the freedom to be myself!

Artistic Statement

My project box inspired me because I freely created ideas. A sheet of flowered pink paper lines the background of the box because it is so beautiful pink with flowers! I placed brown paper twigs scattered among the flowers around the middle of box. These objects represent inspiration, happiness, and positivity define Who I am and my personality. I am fascinated by nature and flowers blossom make I feel so beautiful! Pink especially is my favorite color because pink flowers are so beautiful and colorful. They make me feel beautiful and happy! In addition, there are few inspirational words and sayings “floating” at random locations and orientations on the glass in front of the box. My favorite inspirational is, “Believe in Yourself” because I know that I can do it and I have faith in myself! This is so important to you because I believe that you can do it and follow your mind and heart! It will be good happen to you!

The Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup wrapper and the Skittles candy package on the right side represent my favorite candies. I was young girl since today, I ate the Skittles and it was so delicious. Because I love it red, green, orange, and purple taste, but yellow is not my favorite. I always do separate by colors in group then I eat specific color group. For example, I do pick the all green and separate other colors Skittles. Then, I eat the all green Skittles and it was so delicious because it is so sour and chewy in my mouth! It is BEST EVER! As well as, I like to mix all colors Skittles in my mouth, and it is so delicious! Other, I was high schooler, I tried and ate the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and it was so delicious because it is so good peanut butter stuff in the chocolate cup! The green cap represents the fact that I love it soda, teas, sparking, and waters! There are small bobby pins on the left side near corner. They are magic for my hair because it still stays curly when I take off the bobby pins. Reason, I not need to worry about my hair curly won’t away go like melt! It is my saver life! The quilled Letter P represents “Passion” on the twigs lower of middle. I am happy when I have passion myself because I know what I want to do in my life in present and future! Finally, I make a blue and green round lanyard knot, and I just learned how make round lanyard knot. This shows how I am always learning new things-and it also shows how I like to do crafty things to fun and increase my knowledge and skills!
